Fleet management for transport and logistics.

On a truck fleet, the odometer drives every servicing and cost decision. Simply Fleet keeps one trusted reading per vehicle and runs the rest of the fleet from it.

Truck-tractors, rigids, trailers, LDVs

A lone truck heading away down an open Free State highway under a wide winter sky

Four readings for one truck.

On a truck fleet, the tracker, the fuel card and the booking system each hold part of the picture, and they rarely agree.

Odometers nobody agrees on

Two trackers, a fuel card and a driver can give four different readings for the same truck. Service dates and cost per kilometre are only as good as the one you pick.

Trailers and rigs that need different checks

A truck-tractor doesn’t need the same inspection as a delivery LDV. Give drivers a generic form and they tick it without reading.

The same trip entered twice

When the fleet system and the trip-booking system don’t talk to each other, someone types every trip in twice.

How it works on a truck fleet.

Truck fleets usually start here. Each module is shaped around your depots and vehicle types, and anything else in the product can be added later.

  • Odometers from your trackers

Readings come in from your telematics provider. Where a fleet runs more than one, each vehicle can be set to the source that wins.

    Odometer capture
  • Servicing forecast from real usage

Each vehicle’s next service is forecast from the distance it really covers, so the busiest trucks come due first.

    Maintenance
  • The right checklist for each unit

Questions change with the asset type, so a trailer gets trailer questions. Drivers start by scanning the QR sticker on the unit.

    Checklists & compliance
  • Every cost on the truck it belongs to

Fuel, tolls and repairs land on the truck they belong to, so cost per kilometre is there for each truck, and for each branch.

    Fuel & expenses
  • Connected to your other systems

Simply Fleet can connect to trip-booking and other operational systems, where they allow it, so each trip is only captured once.

Odometer verification record for one truck, flagged for review

Line-haul and cross-border fleet

Two telematics systems reported different odometers for the same trucks.

What we built: Both feeds connected, a setting on each vehicle for which source wins, and service dates forecast from each truck’s own rate of use.

More problems we’ve solved

Questions we get asked.

Our trucks already have trackers. Can the mileage come from there?

Yes. Mileage from your tracking provider feeds the same vehicle record, service schedule and reports as readings captured by drivers. Where you run more than one tracker, you choose which source each vehicle uses.

Can trailers have their own inspections?

Yes. Trailers sit in the asset register like any other unit, and questions change with the asset type, so a trailer gets trailer questions.

Can we see cost per kilometre per truck?

Yes, per vehicle and per branch, from the fuel, tolls, repairs and running costs recorded against each one.

We already use a trip or dispatch system. Do we have to replace it?

No. If the other system allows a connection, Simply Fleet can usually share data with it, so trips and readings aren’t typed in twice.
